Words #2 - Idolo

Image
Been a weird life but the strangest feeling I ever get from people is when I tell them about my greatest idol in life.  Short story made long, every time I've had to write an essay on "your idol in life" or "your role model" I've written one name everywhere, and have been unfortunately called a lunatic and frequently been laughed at.  However, I've failed to realize why do they laugh. I found nothing wrong in idolizing someone who right from his birth didn't find the shelter of mom and dad over him. Even as a kid of 12 he was hated, underestimated and treated as a hateful burden every where he went. He wept all his childhood in loneliness, ran all around his town amidst all the curses people would throw at him. He had no friends, initially. In brief, there was no possible light in his life.  Now here comes the part where I tell you why I love this guy so freaking much.  Regardless of what life had put him through, this silly kid of 12 never gave up.

Back when I was in middle school, I was lucky enough to come across a new trend amongst my classmates. Some of them had started wearing fake specs, which apparently complimented their looks. They took selfie(s), slightly adjusted their glasses to look more attentive and did all sorts of holla-hubba. However, the trend didn't last long. They had gotten bored of it by a month's time.  Humans can be really unreasonable with their thinking sometimes. We do things that we want to, then when we get bored of it, we stop, not even thinking for once why did we stop.  Just like a speeding biker will never know the pain of a paralyzed patient on a wheelchair, just like a dishonest police officer will never know the pain of a militant who's life constantly hangs by a thread, just like a careless thug spending money needlessly on booze and drugs doesn't know the pain of his father who frequently skips lunch to avoid debts. My classmates never realized how lucky they were to have the

For Setsuko & Her Brother

I made a poetry for you, Setsuko.  --- You could sleep now, Setsuko.  You are armored with bad and beautiful memories  And then you became a warrior.  So don't cry, Seita is coming for you.  Don't be afraid, We built a sanctuary inside your heart.  Please, don't forget to explore and live with it.  Remember the fireflies? That there was a night they gave us hope At the same time, troubles.  Because during that war  The lights coming from above  Are bigger and brighter, yet dangerous.  So we see hope from the small ones  That one day our dreams would become magical like the fireflies.  And then you never woke up from that dream.  I didn't know it was your endless good night, Setsuko.  You could wake up now.  You could wake up now.  Wake up, Setsuko.  This film was introduced to me and made an impact in my life. If you have time, please do watch this Japanese animated film: GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES. It's worth it!

Raid - Movie Review

Image
(Hindi)  (Drama / Thriller)  "Heroes don't always come in Uniforms" ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ *(3.5 / 5 ) "Raid" followed the return of Ajay Devgn as an honest government servant after a Singham movie. The movie, quite earnestly, reminded me of Ajay's classic Gangaajal, an honest public employee, fighting against crime and corruption and that kingpin of crime, although the murderous action was missing. However, the gap was well fulfilled by the compelling plot. Based on true events, the movie brings us a fair landscape and life in 1981 , where a footloose Income Tax Officer Mr Amay Patnaik is transferred to Uttar Pradesh. The movie quickly picks up the pace when  receives leads on a huge amount of black money being stocked at a powerful figure's (Tauji)  mansion, from an anonymous informer. The story follows Amay's sudden raid on Tauji's villa and after numerous failed attempt in confiscating any money, the plot takes a quick turn. No further spoilers
