Raid - Movie Review

(Hindi)

(Drama / Thriller)

"Heroes don't always come in Uniforms"
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ *(3.5 / 5 )

"Raid" followed the return of Ajay Devgn as an honest government servant after a Singham movie. The movie, quite earnestly, reminded me of Ajay's classic Gangaajal, an honest public employee, fighting against crime and corruption and that kingpin of crime, although the murderous action was missing. However, the gap was well fulfilled by the compelling plot.

Based on true events, the movie brings us a fair landscape and life in 1981, where a footloose Income Tax Officer Mr Amay Patnaik is transferred to Uttar Pradesh. The movie quickly picks up the pace when  receives leads on a huge amount of black money being stocked at a powerful figure's (Tauji)  mansion, from an anonymous informer. The story follows Amay's sudden raid on Tauji's villa and after numerous failed attempt in confiscating any money, the plot takes a quick turn. No further spoilers here, I shall leave the rest on the viewers.

The movie belongs to Ajay and Saurabh Shukla 's amazing chemistry which is the biggest plus of the movie. If you talk about intense acting and letting your eyes talk better than your mouth there is nobody, who is better than Ajay Devgn. His intense looks, tall, dark personality, shades and a trademark walk, you can't really imagine any other actor playing the character. Saurabh shukla complements him perfectly. A watertight script, brilliant dialogues, romance and drama. Music doesn't have much roo, but still Amit Trivedi fits in a perfect tune for the climax I really liked that climax song reminded me of Bruce Willis' last moments on the asteroid in Armageddon. Really sums up the life of Ajay's character in the climax. All in all, Raid is not just a great watch, but also a story that needs to be told.

PS-  We have a have cameo of Indira Gandhi in the movie and junior Rahul Gandhi as well xD
